One may be wondering why I am writing on V-Day. Good Question. I guess it's because I have nothing better to do. Tate and Cami both called me this evening. Tate left a beautiful "Happy Valentine's Day" death march song on my voicemail, and when I called him back to thank him for it, he told me to be grateful that I wasn't out spending the evening with "some schmuck." He then proceeded to tell me how he would set me up with his non-existent Brazilian friend, Fabio. It was the highlight of my day.
This semester is the most stressful semester I have experienced in my college career. I feel as though I am barely grazing the top of all of my subjects, doing just the bare minimum to keep up on everything. I hate it! I feel like I'm missing out on something because I don't have the time or resources to learn as deeply and fully as I long to. Oh well, I guess that's life. I can have anything I want, just not everything.
Some exciting things in my life right now:
- I am the editor-in-chief for one of my class magazines. Our theme is the How To Kollege Kids Guide to Kreativity. I'm excited for it. It's going to be a blast!
- I made it into Broadway Review with my friend Kevin, and we will be performing "All I Ask of You" from The Phantom of the Opera.
- My 21st birthday is in 4 days (though I'm not too excited for this). I always expected my life to be much different from where it is now. 21 has come way too fast!
- I only have one more semester of college! And then on to grad school...
Our ward had a triathalon early on in the semester at Rigby Lake. I was on the tandem bike with Arley George and we were cruising super fast. We went about 1/2 mile and we had to bike to the canoes at the other side of the lake. As we were almost there, I jumped off the bike to run to the canoes. However, one cannot go straight from biking to running without some transition stage. My legs did not have the support I needed and I wobbled until I finally collasped--my full weight on my leg--at the edge of the lake. Everyone was so shocked and my teammate was like "Kandace! Are you OK?" I yelled at him "Just go!" My leg and foot bruised so bad! To this day, the spot I fell on is still quite tender. However, my team won! :)About a week after this happened, I stubbed my left pinky toe very hard. I think I might have broken it because it still doesn't look the same.
Not much more happened last semester. I got the worst grades I've ever received: 3 A-'s and 2 A's. Horrible, I know.
We finished the semester off by pranking Apt. 9:
Until next time...
